Get started without overcomplicating it
If you have never invested, here are the basics in plain language. GrandAlpha helps you understand predictions; you do not buy or sell here.
The concepts, in one sentence each
Stock: a small part of a company; if it does well it can rise in value.
Prediction: someone's opinion on whether an asset will rise or fall, with a price and a time frame.
Price target: the value the analyst believes the asset will reach.
Time frame: how long is allowed for it to happen (days, months or years).
Bullish / bearish: bullish = expected to rise; bearish = expected to fall.
Volatility: how much and how sharply the price moves; more volatility = more risk.
How to read a prediction without copying blindly
A single prediction is an anecdote; what matters is the track record of whoever signs it. Before giving it weight, look at their GrandAlpha Score, what they get right and whether their previous targets were met. Copying without looking at the track record is exactly what GrandAlpha tries to avoid.
From theory to practice: where do people actually invest?
GrandAlpha is not a broker: here you learn and cross-check, but the money moves elsewhere, at regulated institutions. The generic path has four steps:
- Understand the product before putting in a single euro. If you cannot explain what an index fund or an ETF is in one sentence, it is not yet time to invest in it. That is what this guide and the app's assistant are for.
- Money is invested through a regulated broker or fund manager. They are the authorised intermediaries that execute orders and hold your money. GrandAlpha is not one, recommends none and does not get involved.
- What people usually compare when choosing: that the institution is regulated in your country or the EU (public registers let you check), its fees (dealing, custody, currency conversion), and whether it offers the products you are interested in.
- Many beginners use periodic contributions (a fixed amount every month, so-called DCA) so as not to bet on nailing "the perfect moment". It is a discipline strategy — not a guarantee.
Important: which institution, which product, how much and when are decisions that are exclusively yours. GrandAlpha informs and educates; it does not give personalised financial advice, does not execute orders and does not hold funds. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
